Day 2. Perfect Pair of Wins Puts Gladiator at the Top of the Leaderboard
Newport, RI – July 17, 2024 – The Gladiator team has taken the lead on Day 2 at the 2024 Rolex TP52 World Championship, winning both races today and marking their third consecutive victory. They now hold a four-point lead after four races.
Day 1 of the championship saw Gladiator win the second race, setting the stage for their continued success. Today, Gladiator dominated the challenging conditions, securing victories from the left side of the first windward leg and building comfortable leads. In the first race, with 7-9 knots of breeze and choppy waves, Vayu finished second, and Doug DeVos’ Quantum Racing powered by American Magic came in third.
Gladiator’s helm and three-time TP52 World Champion, Guillermo Parada, praised the team’s performance and Tony Langley’s guidance “We have speed, and we’re pleased with how well we’re doing. Tony made good calls today. We need to start each day afresh and focus on what’s working.”
The championship continues with more races ahead, and Gladiator aims to maintain their momentum.
