NORWAY – Bergen Engines, a leading manufacturer of medium-speed engines and generator sets, is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine (SAEE). This MOU represents a key step in Ukraine’s efforts to rebuild its energy infrastructure in anticipation of the upcoming winter.
An MOU is a formal agreement between the two parties which outlines their commitment to work together toward common objective. In this case, the MOU between SAEE and Bergen Engines sets the foundation for the delivery of medium-speed gensets to Ukraine. These generators are vital for producing electricity to heat homes and power essential services across the country.
The agreement was signed with Anna Zamazeeva, Head of the SAEE, who commented, “I am confident that in the near future, high-tech Bergen installations will undoubtedly appear in Ukraine, and the company’s advanced technological solutions will be implemented. This will significantly help us build a distributed generation system that is less vulnerable to enemy missile attacks and, as a result, will make our communities and country more energy-independent and our critical infrastructure more resilient.”

Why This MOU is Important:
As Ukraine faces severe energy challenges, the need for reliable electricity supply has never been more urgent. The country’s power infrastructure has been significantly damaged, and with winter fast approaching, the risk of power outages that could leave millions without heat and electricity is a pressing concern. The MOU with Bergen Engines is an important step toward securing the energy resources needed to support the Ukrainian people.
How Bergen Engines Can Support Ukraine’s Energy Infrastructure:
Bergen Engines, known for its expertise in designing and manufacturing medium-speed engines, is well-positioned to support Ukraine in rebuilding its national grid. The company’s medium-speed gensets are highly efficient, reliable, and capable of operating under challenging conditions. These engines are ideal for both emergency power generation and providing a stable, long-term solution to meet the country’s energy demands.
Jon Erik Røv, Managing Director of Bergen Engines, commented on the agreement: “Our medium-speed gensets are designed to deliver reliable and efficient power. We are committed to working with SAEE to secure the necessary power supply, ensuring Ukrainian homes and businesses have access to electricity and heat this winter. Together, we can enhance energy security and make a meaningful impact, and we are proud to be a part of this effort.”
